TODAY’S TRAINING INSPIRATION:
ANNE MONTMINY
Today’s Colin Timberlake Training Inspiration is a member of the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame for her performance under pressure at the 2000 Games in Sydney.
Anne Montminy rose to the occasion and vastly outperformed expectations when she secured two Olympic medals at the Sydney Games. With nerves of steel, she executed her dives to near-perfection and landed a bronze medal in the 10m Platform and a silver in the Platform Synchronized Diving event.
This followed a handful of highly noteworthy international accomplishments in the 10m Platform event, including a gold medal at the 1995 Pan American Games and at the 1994 Commonwealth Games.
To this she would add a bronze medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games.
Also, in the vein of many great athletes such as Ken Dryden, Jeff Monson, Bonecrusher Smith, Jake Shields and Randy Gregg, Anne Montminy also focused on bettering herself through education, having gone on to an equally successful career in law following her achievements in diving.
