TODAY’S TRAINING INSPIRATION:
ARCHIE MOORE
Today’s Colin Timberlake Training Inspiration is a man who enjoyed one of the longest, greatest and most impressive careers in the history of boxing.
A hard training ethic is largely responsible for Archie Moore’s ability to endure 220 professional fights, amassing an incredible record of 185-23-11 with one no-decision.
Not only did he accumulate an enormous number of wins, he accumulated them against the best competition and enjoyed two runs as the world light heavyweight champion (1952 to 1959 and again in 1961).
He defied age, boxing into his late forties and still winning consistently.
Over the course of his illustrious career, he defeated the likes of Jack Chase, Holman Williams, the Alabama Kid, the Cocoa Kid, Kenny LaSalle, Lloyd Marshall, Buddy Walker, Jimmy Bivins, Bert Lytell, Phil Muscato, Yvon Durelle, Alberto Santiago Lovell, Ron Richards, Fred Henneberry, Shorty Hogue and Big Boy Hogue.
