TODAY’S TRAINING INSPIRATION:
BERNIE NICHOLLS

Today’s Colin Timberlake Training Inspiration is a man who could arguably be called the best player not in the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Bernie Nicholls enjoyed a string of eight straight seasons with 70 points or more, and 100 or better in three of those.

Perhaps most impressive of all, in 1988-89 he became one of only five players ever to score 150 points in a single season, also joining the highly exclusive 70-goal club with his scoring touch that year.

During the era after Marcel Dionne’s prime and before Wayne Gretzky’s arrival, Bernie Nicholls was the Los Angeles Kings, and his scoring touch was largely what propelled the team to be remotely competitive on any given night.

After 18 seasons in the league, he retired as one of the all-time leaders in games played (1,127), goals (475), assists (734) and points (1,209).

TODAY: HALF MARATHON

TREADMILL HALF MARATHON
- 13.1 Miles / 1:55:18

Kept a consistent pace of 7.0 mph the whole way. I felt like I had some decent gas left in the tank after the 13.1 miles were up, though the blisters on my toes may have had something else to say about the matter.

I made a point of keeping a pace that I knew would not risk gassing me out before I reached the end…but even still, this felt surprisingly…I don’t want to say “easy” so I’ll say “well within my capabilities.”
