TODAY’S TRAINING INSPIRATION:
GINA CARANO

Today’s Colin Timberlake Training Inspiration is a woman who tonight fights for the first major North American women’s MMA title.


After a couple years of hype-building toward the match, Gina Carano will finally collide this evening with Cris “Cyborg” Santos, providing MMA fans with the premier women’s matchup in the sport.

Since her professional debut with a 38-second obliteration of Leticia Pestova, Carano has racked up a perfect 7-0 record on the road to her contention for the inaugural title belt. Furthermore, her MMA career followed an impressive 12-1-1 run in Muay Thai kickboxing.

In other athletic endeavors, she has also parlayed her good looks and imposing physique into a stint as one of the superhumans on American Gladiators.

Of particular note is that through her training, marketing and performance in the cage, she has played an enormous role in growing the sports of women’s MMA and also creating demand for a women’s title in a major promotion.
