When Australian band Real Life released the album Heartland and its leadoff single Send Me an Angel, they began a rise up the charts and a solidification of their place in 1980s music lore.

Despite being one of the most distinct and melodic new age synth acts of the decade, few remember their follow-up single from the same album, Openhearted, a song that challenges Angel in both its cutting edge electronic sound (for its time) and melodic appeal. The video (below) is also reminiscent of some of the imagery of Peter Gabriel videos, most notably Games Without Frontiers.

As well, the following link is a 2004 Live Recording of Openhearted.

And for good measure, here is a 2004 Live Recording of Bleeding Babies, another relatively unknown and underrated Real Life track from the 1980s.
