This underappreciated actor is a man who has gone remarkably unrecognized for the strong characters he has been able to bring to both film and television.

Francesco Quinn made perhaps his strongest impression on the big screen as Rhah, one of the stronger members in a squad of soldiers being torn apart by Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe in Oliver Stone’s Best Picture winner Platoon.

Being of Mexican, Irish and Italian heritage, Quinn has the sort of difficult-to-pigeonhole appearance that allows him to drift convincingly between ethnicities.

As such, he was able to turn in an excellent performance as Sayed Ali, an Arab terrorist with a human side in 24, and also as Greek villain Nino Sikoulis in Alias.

Quinn has also guest-starred on ER, CSI: Miami, The Shield and Miami Vice.

Francesco comes from a strong acting heritage, being the son of screen legend Anthony Quinn.
