Perhaps best known for his turn as the menacing prison rapist who terrorized Tim Robbins in The Shawshank Redemption, Mark Rolston has enjoyed a career of varying roles, typically as either a criminal or some form of marine or cop.

Rolston first established his proficiency in the latter type with a notable supporting role as Drake in Aliens, as a member of one of the toughest and most underappreciated armed forces platoons in movie history, with comrades that included fellow underrated actors Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Jenette Goldstein and Michael Biehn, among others.

However, Rolston was not finished there, as he would go on to make his mark with supporting roles in some of the notable action films of the 1980s and 1990s: Lethal Weapon 2, Daylight, Eraser, Rush Hour and Robocop 2. Most recently, he was a contributor to the cast of the Oscar-winning film The Departed, by Martin Scorsese.

Rolston has also gone on to add to the ambience of some of the toughest shows on TV, with appearances in 24, CSI, The Shield, NYPD Blue, Alias, The X-Files, Profiler and Tour of Duty.
