20 SONGS for LIFTING WEIGHTS

Well, I have been doing some pretty taxing training as of late, and with my two minute rests between sets and my iPod or party shuffle, I am literally spending most of those two minutes skipping crappy songs and getting annoyed, rather than resting and focusing and prepping for the next and more intense set. This is especially not a good use of my energy in the current Anvil of Crom training period.

So I went into iTunes and took a few minutes now to save myself countless minutes and premature grey hairs listening to crappy music in between sets. I custom-crafted a 20-song playlist to get me through the tough sets and I’m sharing it. From my iPod to yours, here’s some good weightlifting music.

  • 50 Cent – Hustler’s Ambition
  • Akon – Clap Again
  • Bon Jovi – Livin’ on a Prayer
  • Breakfast Club – Right on Track
  • Cypress Hill – Rock Superstar
  • Eminem – ‘Till I Collapse
  • Eminem – Sing for the Moment
  • Eminem – Spend Some Time
  • Eminem – Lose Yourself
  • Fat Joe – Does Anybody Know
  • Fat Joe – Make it Rain
  • Fort Minor – Remember the Name
  • Hall and Oates – Cold Dark and Yesterday

Sooner or later, these songs will wear a little thin and need a few weeks off before they regain their effectiveness. At that point, I’ll make a new list and give another 20 good iron-pumping songs for your rotation. Keep pushing through the pain barrier!
